Third Edition &ndash Source Code

All source code from the third edition of the book is Copyright © 2006 Russel Winder and Graham Roberts and is licenced under the GNU Public Licence (GPL)

We have created archive files of (almost) all the source code from the book:

• djs3e_sourceCode.tgz
• djs3e_sourceCode.zip

Why only (almost) all you are asking – the answer is simple but complicated. The way we structured the source code for use in the typesetting of the book is not a sensible way to present the source code in an archive for readers to use. We didn't want to create a hand-crafted version of the source code since we wanted to ensure it was kept up to date as bugs are found and minor tinkerings made to improve the code. The current automated creation of the reader-useful source from the typesetter-useful source does not currently create all the files. We are working on it to get more of the source code in the reader-useful form.

So, apologies for not having all the source code in place in a useful form. If there is a specific bit you think is missing do let us know by emailing Russel Winder.
